Outsmart have been an important founding partner in the £1 million redevelopment of the iconic Brewery building and have spent the last year developing the branding and marketing material for the launch of ‘The Tetley’.
The Tetley Brewery building has been transformed by arts charity Project Space Leeds and Carlsberg UK. It retains period Art Deco features such as the grand wood panelled boardroom and incorporates the ‘Bar and Kitchen’ restaurant, with a menu designed by acclaimed chef Anthony Flinn, exciting new gallery space and arts education facilities.
Outsmart’s striking brand identity for The Tetley features on all materials including external and internal signage, advertising, what’s on guides, menus, bags, t-shirts, flags, posters, the website, email comms and much more.
An old classic, with a new twist
It was important the brand identity of the building evoked its rich heritage. The use of the classic art deco font Gill Sans in a modern style captures perfectly the idea of reinterpreting the old in a contemporary fashion.
Kerry Harker, Co-Director of The Tetley comments
“Outsmart have produced a striking and effective brand identity that really captures the essence of ‘The Tetley.’ The work Outsmart have done will help to ensure The Tetley’s success as a major draw to the city.”
Benet Slay, CEO, Carlsberg UK adds
“We are pleased to have found such a great use for the former Tetley Brewery Headquarters building and are delighted to share it with the community of Leeds. We are pleased that Outsmart have developed a brand image that reflects the history of the building and echoes its art deco styling.”
